Job Position: Tech Lead

The Role:
We are looking to add a Senior Career Lead to our management team to take on a more data-driven and managerial role within the Career Mentor team.

This role would have a lot of autonomy for helping us architect what this new department should look like (managerial, strategy planning, team building, strengthening culture) as well as help us lay down the foundations (operational, metric based) for how we can efficiently grow and scale not only the Career Team but also increasing our fellows’ chances of becoming successful. Responsibilities:
• Hire, inspire and grow talented Backend and Front-End Developers.
• Influence product strategy and drive the product development roadmap. Set the standard for technical excellence.
• Creates and maintains application development/engineering resource plan with respect to the practice by creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structure across practice
• Manages application development staff assigned resources
• Provides appropriate development resource estimates (hours) for all applicable phases of planned projects, including change requests
• Anticipates problems before they occur; defines a problem; identifies possible causes; works with a team to find solution; selects and implements most appropriate solution
• Provides support and documentation to assist in sustaining the project during the transition to production where necessary

Required Skills:
• Passionate about mentorship and our mission
• Strong managerial acumen with a minimum of 1 years of experience managing a team of 4+ employees who have monthly or quarterly goals.
• Ability to define the right metrics and validate success through a consistent routine built into a team
• 3+ years of Node.JS development experience
• 2+ Years working within an event-driven micro service architecture.
• 4+ Years working with databases both SQL and NoSQL.
• 2+ Years’ experience building REST APIS.
• Strong empathetic communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and independent problem solving skills.
